Born Global Incubator 2024-2025

The Born Global Ukraine project is developed by Visionest Institute Estonia and implemented in cooperation with Ukrainian Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office (EEPO) within the framework of the Diia.Business Ukraine national project.

The project is funded by the US Department of State Office of the Assistance Coordinator for Europe and Eurasia under the 11th round of the Development Cooperation Partnership (DCP) Program and by ESTDEV – Estonian Center for International Development Cooperation.

The Born Global Ukraine program helps create new businesses in Ukraine that are designed to quickly expand into international markets. This initiative is crucial for fostering economic growth and resilience in the region.

The program's teams, comprising entrepreneurial enthusiasts, undergo an intensive Born Global training program led by a Ukrainian trainer. They also receive guidance and mentorship on their ideas from international experts, ensuring a globally informed perspective.

Project activities include the recruitment and selection of participants, followed by the training of 20 new export trainers in Ukraine through a 'Train The Trainers' program. These newly skilled trainers will then pilot their expertise in an effective Born Global Incubator program, involving teams from newly established companies or entrepreneurial enthusiasts.

A key component of the project is providing mentorship for teams, which helps build relationships with international experts and networks. This networking aspect is vital for accessing global markets and opportunities.

Special attention is given to diversity and inclusion, with efforts to incorporate women, people with special needs, and veterans into the program. This ensures a broad and representative participation, leveraging diverse perspectives for innovation.

Post-program analysis and sharing of lessons learned are also integral activities, aimed at evaluating the project's effectiveness and disseminating best practices for future initiatives.

As a result of the program, entrepreneurs and business owners will be equipped to quickly and effectively internationalize their teams or companies, leading to the launch of new Born Globals in Ukraine.

The direct beneficiaries include 20 export consultants/trainers, with a commitment that at least 50% will be women, who will acquire practical new skills. Additionally, 500 individuals will benefit, with 200 participating directly in training and mentorship, aiming to launch or internationalize 40 companies. Ten local government or other business support organizations will also receive support.
