Export Alliance Mastery 2024-2025

The Export Alliance Mastery project is a strategic initiative designed to significantly enhance the export capabilities of Ukrainian companies. It achieves this by focusing on empowering Business Support Organizations (BSOs) across Ukraine, providing them with the necessary tools, training, and support to effectively guide local SMEs into international markets.

Developed by Visionest Institute Estonia, the program is implemented in close cooperation with Ukraine’s Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office, falling under the umbrella of the Diia.Business Ukrainian national project. This collaborative approach ensures that the program is well-integrated with national development strategies and leverages existing infrastructure for maximum impact.

The primary goal is to strengthen the export capacity of Ukrainian companies. This is primarily done through comprehensive training and support provided to BSOs, thereby enhancing their skills and capabilities. These strengthened BSOs will then be equipped to offer practical, market-oriented assistance to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) that aspire to enter and succeed in international markets.

The program is structured around seven intensive monthly training modules. These modules are specifically designed to combine theoretical knowledge with practical application, ensuring that participants gain both a deep understanding and hands-on experience in export promotion. A key feature is the direct engagement with real Ukrainian companies, allowing for practical application of learned skills.

A significant component of the Export Alliance Mastery program is the provision of tailored mentorship and coaching. This is delivered by top international trainers, ensuring that BSOs receive high-quality guidance and insights from global experts in export development and business support.

Participants will also benefit from an EU Study Trip, offering a first-hand learning experience. This trip involves visiting successful European BSOs, providing valuable insights into best practices, operational models, and effective strategies for export promotion within the European context. This exposure is crucial for adapting and implementing successful models in Ukraine.

Following the intensive training and study trip, an 8-week practical module is implemented. During this period, participants apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired in a real-world setting. This hands-on experience is critical for solidifying their understanding and enabling them to effectively implement export initiatives.

The expected outcomes of the project are multi-faceted, aiming to leave a lasting impact on Ukraine's export ecosystem. These include the empowerment of 10 BSOs across 10 different regions, each becoming a stronger pillar for local entrepreneurial development. Furthermore, 100 companies will be recruited to practically apply the skills learned, directly benefiting from the enhanced BSO support.

Approximately 30 BSO participants from 10 organizations will be trained, leading to the implementation of improved BSO practices among their members. A particular focus is placed on gender equality, with a target of 50% women participation in the program. Ultimately, the overall BSO capacity is expected to increase significantly, enabling them to serve an estimated 2500 SMEs more effectively.
