Ukraine Rebuilding Task Force

The Ukraine Rebuilding Task Force program, an initiative by Visionest Institute Estonia, aims to empower the Ukrainian rebuilding sector including engineers, architects, construction professionals, digital service providers, and consultants. The primary goal is to equip these professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively participate in the large-scale reconstruction efforts of Ukraine.

The program is designed to accelerate the internationalization readiness of Ukrainian companies and foster operational cooperation with international partners in the rebuilding sector. Key strategies include increasing capacity, promoting gender diversity by bringing more women into the predominantly male-dominated industry, integrating digital tools, and enhancing overall cooperation.

Implemented in collaboration with Ukraine’s Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office, the program operates within the framework of the Diia.Business Ukrainian national project. This partnership ensures alignment with national reconstruction priorities and broad outreach within Ukraine.

Financial backing for the project comes from significant international and national sources. The U.S. Department of State Office of the Assistance Coordinator for Europe and Eurasia provides support under the 10th Round of the Development Cooperation Partnership (DCP) Program. Additionally, the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV) contributes financial assistance, underscoring the international commitment to Ukraine's recovery.

Specific objectives for one cycle of the program include training 300 rebuilding sector SMEs on international cooperation. This rigorous training will cover essential aspects of engaging with global partners, adapting to international standards, and navigating complex cross-border projects.

Another critical objective is to train 20 IT freelancers in mentorship roles. These freelancers will become 'Digital Mentors' for the rebuilding sector companies, providing crucial guidance on leveraging digital tools for market visibility, operational efficiency, and connecting with international clients.

The program also aims to foster stronger collaboration among participants and facilitate the development of 5 sectoral action plans. These plans will serve as strategic roadmaps for regional cooperation within the rebuilding sector, enhancing collective efforts and resource utilization.

The overarching mission is to rapidly and efficiently train the professional services sector, increasing their willingness and capability to engage in Ukraine's reconstruction alongside Western companies. This includes adapting their services to international customer needs and improving their marketing and sales capabilities.

Ultimately, the program strives to make Ukrainian rebuilding companies active participants in international cooperation and enhance their online visibility. The Digital Mentors will play a crucial role in improving companies' discoverability for international customers, while regional cooperation plans will boost successful engagements with the global rebuilding community.
