Service Export program in Ukraine
Empowering Ukrainian service businesses for global reach through digital export.
О программе
The Service Export program in Ukraine was launched with the primary objective of enhancing the export capabilities of service sector companies. It aimed to establish a comprehensive training system designed to support both new and existing businesses in rapidly achieving export readiness through the adoption of digital business models.
The program successfully delivered a training system that empowered small, medium, and micro-enterprises within the service sector. Participants gained capacity for sector development and strategic expansion into new markets, guided by the recommendations of digital transformation mentors.
A total of 616 participants were recruited from across Ukraine, with a particular focus on engaging businesses from the Eastern regions. This broad outreach ensured that critical support reached diverse areas.
Despite facing significant challenges, including a temporary pause due to the war, the program demonstrated remarkable adaptability. It was swiftly re-evaluated, received updated objectives and deadlines, and was ultimately well-received by its participants. The timely support provided helped companies navigate emergency situations, find innovative solutions for service development, and preserve their income streams.
The project made a notable contribution to improving the situation of women and advancing gender equality. Women are often more represented in service sector enterprises compared to men. The program actively engaged 322 women and 294 men, thereby significantly boosting women's entrepreneurship and leadership within the sector.
Furthermore, the initiative positively impacted environmental considerations and raised awareness of environmental issues. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a majority of the planned activities were conducted online. This digital-first approach substantially reduced the ecological footprint associated with traditional in-person training and travel.
The program actively promoted the adoption of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions among participants. Attendees learned to collaborate effectively using various remote work tools, which became crucial during challenging times. Digital mentors provided targeted support, fostering the development of digital export strategies and capabilities.
The effectiveness and success of the program were reflected in the high satisfaction levels among its participants. The program achieved an impressive recommendation index of 9.9, underscoring its valuable contribution to the Ukrainian service sector.
