As part of the “Trade Fair Assistance for Georgian SMEs” initiative, Visionest Institute organized a high-impact study visit to Florence, Italy, focused on the children’s fashion industry. From June 23 to 26, over seven Georgian SME representatives accessed leading European brands and participated directly in the Pitti Immagine Bimbo trade fair-one of the world’s premier kidswear platforms.

June 23–26, 2025 | Florence, Italy

The visit began with curated company tours around Florence, where participants met the founders of Kidsy, a modern children’s fashion concept store, and Maghi e Maci, an artisan boutique known for handcrafted, high-quality collections. These visits offered immersive discussions on product design, retail strategy, and insights into the European market.

Following these tours, the group visited Miniconf S.p.A., a top-tier production company and subcontractor for internationally renowned children’s fashion brands, providing an exclusive view into large-scale production and brand partnerships-key learnings for SMEs aiming for global markets.

Over two full days, participants engaged with the Pitti Immagine Bimbo trade fair at Florence’s Fortezza da Basso, exploring product showcases, emerging trends, and potential buyer connections.

The study tour was expertly guided by Martina Vazzoler, EU digital export specialist and Visionest trainer, who helped participants navigate visits and deepen their understanding of international market positioning.

Meanwhile, Anu-Mall Naarits, CEO of Visionest Institute, was present at the trade fair itself, offering personalized one-on-one consultations to Georgian SMEs- helping sharpen their export strategies and build meaningful partnerships.

This comprehensive program of industry visits, trade fair access, and expert guidance is a vital step in boosting the export readiness of Georgian creative SMEs. It reflects Visionest Institute’s ongoing dedication to delivering actionable knowledge and tailored mentorship for businesses expanding internationally.

This initiative, funded by the European Union and implemented by Visionest Institute, a contractor of the Estonian Centre for International Development, with support from UNDP Georgia, aims to boost SMEs’ exports to the EU and European markets through participation in international trade fairs and B2B events.
