Tourism Incubator – Ida-Virumaa

The creation of the tourism incubator brings an adult training programme in tourism entrepreneurship to Ida-Virumaa.

The Ida-Virumaa tourism incubator ("Training for creating an environmentally friendly tourism business with the help of AI") is a new adult training programme delivered jointly by Visionest Institute and the Vaivara Sinimäed Foundation. It is open to everyone in Ida-Virumaa who wants to help build environmentally friendly tourism businesses and services in the region.

You do not have to be an entrepreneur, you do not have to know everything, and you do not even have to be sure what exactly you want to do. Interest and a willingness to try are enough. Participation is free of charge and no previous business experience is required.

The project runs from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2027; the pilot cohort takes place from August to December 2026. The programme is delivered online, so participants can combine it with work and family life.

The training consists of seven modules. Participants shape a raw idea into a workable tourism business, learn to design and price tourism services, find their place in the market, build marketing and customer acquisition, plan resources, costs and sales, and pitch their business idea convincingly to funders. Work happens in small teams with support from mentors and fellow participants.

Trainers are successful local Ida-Virumaa tourism entrepreneurs who started from scratch themselves: Terje Rattur, Egle Rääsk, Kristina Ernits, Karina Küppas, Airis Vesk and Aare Rebban.

The programme is funded by the Just Transition Fund under support for adult education initiatives in Ida-Virumaa.
